In May 2010 NTTX was approached by a client to provide a senior consultant to act as interim director of bid management for a fixed term, two-year period. The first task was to recruit five new bid managers, while still achieving the bid team’s demanding targets for new business. Our consultant selected a blend of young, dynamic bid writers alongside experienced campaigners and coached them in the client’s methods of operation and also on effective bid writing.
As well as contributing to the written submissions, our consultant quality checks all written tender submissions before they are issued to potential clients. As a result, the bid team has so far exceeded all its sales targets and achieved a ratio of one in three wins, an industry-leading performance. As well as the order book growth achieved to-date (£0.5 billion), the client will, at the end of the assignment, be equipped with the legacy of a highly effective and dynamic team of bid managers.
