Safety and Risk Assurance

NTTX has considerable in-house expertise in developing and implementing risk management strategies. We draw upon a breadth of experience from working directly with regulators, major clients and contractors covering the assessment and control of health, safety, environmental and associated business risks.

NTTX consultants are able to support a complete risk management programme from identifying the key programme requirements through to completing the required risk assessment and risk control studies. A key element is the specification of effective risk management techniques to meet the programme requirements within cost and timescale constraints. To meet these needs a wide range of techniques can be deployed including:

  • Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) studies
  • Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) studies
  • Human Reliability Assessment (HRA)
  • Failure Modes & Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA)
  • ALARP and Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA)

NTTX consultants have a significant level of experience of safety case development related to the major hazard and regulated industries including nuclear, oil and gas and the railways. The scope of safety cases ranges from equipment level through to operational safety cases requiring a range of experience from system engineering to organisational safety management.
